The Ventura County Rescue Mission offers an extensive drug and alcohol recovery program. It is a free, ten month, residential Christian based, recovery program that provides Biblically based structure and applied discipline for living an overcoming life.
For those interested in joining the Recovery Program, we require an in-person interview of all prospective program clients. These are conducted every Monday – Thursday at 10:30am – 11:30am.
Program applicants must bring:
- A valid ID (Social Security card, driver’s license or state issued ID card)
- A current TB test card
Our program provides individual counseling, case management and classes that include: Christian 12 Steps, Anger Management, and classes dealing with Biblical and Spiritual issues.
We offer our program residents the benefits of an outstanding culinary school, warehouse vocational training, computer skill development, and other vocational training opportunities.

For Women and Children:
The Lighthouse Life Recovery Program is ideal for single women and mothers with children (up to age 10 – some exceptions made up to age 12) that need help with addiction recovery in a supportive, loving environment. The Life Recovery Program is a faith-based nine-month residential program that provides addiction recovery, critical life skills, vocational training, Bible studies, Biblical counselling, and programs for children.
Life Recovery Program intake appointments are scheduled from 8:30 am – 10:30 am every Thursday. To qualify for our program, women with children must be biological parents or be able to demonstrate legal custody. Those with a disability, pregnancy, or other physical issues will be accommodated to a reasonable extent.
In order to process your application, you will need the following:
- Must have a valid ID or must obtain it with the first 72 hours of stay
- Children must have social security card, birth certificate, or another form of ID
- All program participants must get a TB test taken within the first 72 hours of stay

Transitional Living Program
The Transitional Living Program is a two-year transitional housing program for men and women who graduate the Life Recovery Program. Participants are required to pay a small program fee (not to exceed 30% of income) in order to receive valuable aftercare support, including time to build an employment history and save toward permanent housing.
