From the Director – May 2019

As a volunteer at the Ventura County Rescue Mission, you can help a homeless person directly, whether it be a man, woman or child. This can be done by serving a delicious, hot meal or teaching a class. There is a lot of discussion on what should or can be done by society regarding the homeless situation in our county. The Mission has the answer, and it involves you!

We have emergency shelters to take in those experiencing homelessness; we have drug and alcohol recovery programs with the goal of restoring people to lead productive and independent lives. We offer job training and placement, and we collaborate with many other service providers that can offer help. All of this is provided without cost, at both our locations, the Mission and the Lighthouse. Yet, none of this is possible without you, our volunteers, donors, organizations and the faith-based community.

We value your support in any of the ways described above. Consider becoming part of the crusade to end homelessness. If you already give, thank you for caring so deeply for the poor, the homeless and the broken hearted.
