Summary
Reporting to the Thrift Store Supervisor, the Janitor/Production Worker position will assist Production crew to complete all necessary tasks in order to meet production goals in a prompt and efficient manner. This is a part-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, California at Oxnard Bargain Center. This position is overtime eligible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain organization and cleanliness and sanitary conditions of store, offices, bathrooms, parking lots and break rooms, front area support (hangers, bagging, customer service for carry out). Clean and organize production area, close production and staging areas, put out remaining merchandise onto floor, ensure site checklist is completed daily and all chemicals and supplies are in stock, maintain MSDS inventory, unload and sort donation carts, separate salable items from recycle, baler and trash, assist preparer when necessary and assist clothing unloader, assist all areas of clothing table and hard goods table, track carts and time on board with pricer for production report, weekly pull by designated price brackets based upon lean/full areas, hang and tag clothing; record rack count and job tasks on tracking sheet for production report.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and multi-task, maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties including the ability to lift 60lbs, hands-on position, including push/pull of clothing racks, moving boxes, lifting merchandise, etc. Must be able to work on feet for long periods of time and stand or walk most of the work shift, repetitive use of hands, demonstrate work ethic with consistent attendance and punctuality. Payroll Specialist
Rescue Mission Alliance Headquarters
Summary
The Payroll Specialist works within the Accounting Department with the objective of processing payroll, journal entries and reconciliations for financial transactions to facilitate management reporting and accurate payroll reporting. The Payroll Specialist reports to the Controller and interacts with the CEO, CFO, Directors, Managers, and Supervisors. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in, Oxnard, California. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is overtime and benefits eligible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Daily – Enter new hire employee information into timekeeping system. Monitor timekeeping reports to assure compliance with company policy and wage & hour laws. Process wage garnishments and respond to agencies. Process manual payroll checks as necessary and maintain log for manual and voided checks. Prepare miscellaneous bank deposits and post to A/R or G/L. Answer and respond to calls from Auto Donors for 1098C reporting. Semi-Monthly – Prepare payroll, run edit reports, reconcile totals between time clock and payroll system, make necessary corrections, and submit approved payroll to agency. Prepare and enter general ledger entries for 403b contributions, and payroll. Research and resolve payroll corrections. Monthly – Enter general ledger entries for month end worker’s compensation and miscellaneous revenue into Intacct. Reconcile monthly medical, dental, life insurance, vision invoices with the payroll deductions. Reconcile bale inventory to assure all pickups have been invoiced. Quarterly – Prepare EDD multiple worksite report and submit to Controller. Annually – Prepare forms 1099 and 1098C and submit to Controller. Distribute annual notice to employees for address info for W-2 forms. Occasionally – Ad hock reporting for HR Dept and others. Annually – assist with collection of data requested by the auditors, Controller or CFO during annual audits. The Payroll Specialist will assist daily with the answering of the front door and greeting visitors while the reception position is unavailable or out of the office. During periods of vacations or illness in the department the Payroll Specialist will serve as backup for the Junior Accountant, and Accounts Payable Associate.

Sorter (Part-Time)

Summary
Reports to the Thrift Store Supervisor, the sorter position will assist associates, pricer, cashiers and production crew to complete all necessary tasks. This is a part-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, California at OxnardBargainCenter. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience, this position is overtime eligible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Unload and sort donation carts, separate saleable items from recycle, baler and trash, assist preparer when necessary, track carts and time on board and with pricer for production report, minimum requirement for 30 minutes per hard goods carts and 15 minutes per clothing carts, weekly pull by designated price brackets based upon lean/full areas, assist all areas of clothing and hard goods tables.
Qualifications
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties including the ability to lift up to 60 lbs., hands on position, including moving boxes, lifting merchandise, etc., must be able to work on feet for long periods of time, walk and stand most of work shift, High school diploma, GED or equivalent, demonstrated work ethic with consistent attendance and punctuality, excellent customer service, able to multi-task. Case Manager
Lighthouse for Women & Children
Summary
The Case Manager is a source of support and guidance to the guests of the Lighthouse for Men, Women and Children which provide the necessary tools to accomplish increased self-sufficiency and support to maintain a sober lifestyle. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, California. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is overtime eligible and includes benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain contact with assigned clients a minimum of one hour each week appropriate to particular status and needs, maintain accurate client documentation and other pertinent paperwork/reports. Assist clients’ to achieve goals as outlined in their individual programs. Act as a hub for all information about the clients maintained in case load. Coordinate clients counseling, Education, Employment, and Vocational placement with the Education Coordinator. Communicate with the Program Coordinator about classes, program requirements, program phase advancements and other events as they occur, Attend weekly case management meetings and other specified meetings/trainings as required and any overarching case management session with outside agencies when needed. Accurately complete job assignments, agency forms, and written documents within assigned deadlines, Provide services in accordance to the Lighthouse Programs. Responsible for adhering to all policy and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other departmental procedure manuals. Communicate with Administrative Services Coordinator about transportation. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Case Manager, Program Coordinator and Director.

Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field preferred. Personal growing relationship with the Lord. SOS Shower Program Staff (Part-Time)
San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, North Hollywood
Summary
The SOS Shower Program Staff is responsible to oversee all aspects of our Rescue SOS shower ministry including the operation, inventory, and upkeep of our shower truck and trailer, and the care of those we serve. Significant opportunities exist for relational and spiritual ministry with our guests experiencing difficult times. This position reports to the Lead Chaplain and is a part-time, non-exempt regular position located in North Hollywood, CA. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience, this position is overtime eligible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage all needed inventory and supplies for the shower program, including clothing, hygiene products, towels, and supplies. Drive the shower truck and trailer to and from mission headquarters to the daily shower program location. Facilitate showers for guests, including enforcing rules, distributing clothing and hygiene products, and overseeing volunteers. Ensure that the shower truck and trailer are properly maintained (e.g. fuel, propane, cleanliness). Build relationships with shower program clients and attend to their needs within the bounds of the program. Work closely with program clients to offer spiritual training and encouragement, and offer referrals to other programs as appropriate. Maintain a positive working relationship with churches and staff of shower program locations. Cover the emergency shelter and assist Shelter Staff during assigned periods. Complete tracking reports as assigned. Work with the Director to further case management, and outreach efforts. Represent the mission as available, particularly regarding the shower program. Follow all safety (including MSDS and Smith System) procedures. Support mission objectives as a vital mission team member, including helping with special events, donation pick-ups, and other mission activities as called upon. Participate in regular staff meetings, driver training meetings, and periodic training meetings. Supervise volunteers and/or program clients.
Qualifications
Vibrant and committed follower of Jesus Christ, good concern for lost and broken society, must be a committed Christian, good standing in a local church. Possess fundamental computer skills, basic office equipment. Able to work well with clients and volunteers in a supervisory role, assisting in giving counsel and direction where necessary, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to delegate tasks, drive a pick-up truck, pulling a large heavy trailer. Case Manager
San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, North Hollywood
Summary
The Case Manager is responsible to provide case management services for all assigned guests and associated programs at the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in North Hollywood, California and reports to the Director. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide productive case management services for all clients and programs associated with the mission. Conduct case management meetings with Emergency Family Shelter clients, and ensure that clients are attending Case Manager meetings at least once per week for transition planning, financial management, referrals, and accountability. Provide referrals for clients and inquirers, and serve as a liaison between clients and other organizations as appropriate. Work with clients on resume creation and job search training. Oversee mandatory savings program for clients. Offer periodic classes and training as appropriate, for example: Orientation and transition issues, Health and nutrition, Job skills, e.g. leadership, excellence, computers, Parenting, e.g. discipline vs. child abuse, Mental health, e.g. family dynamics, relationships, anger management, Financial management, ESL. Support and assist the Shelter Manager in prescreening potential clients and conducting intake interviews as available. Document all client advocacy and case management activities per mission protocols. May assist the Volunteer Coordinator with recruiting, and training “professional-level” volunteer case managers and/or interns. Actively represent the mission by speaking in churches and relevant community groups, alongside the Lead Chaplain, in order to provide awareness of programs and recruit for volunteer needs, Lead training seminars in churches and with churches on issues of homelessness in our community and how to become involved. Work in collaboration with the Shelter Manager and/or Lead Chaplain on issues pertaining to spirituality, biblical counseling, compliance, and conflict resolution issues with clients as available. Oversee basic office operations, including reception, phones, copiers, etc., Act as point person for newsletter and monthly reporting. Supervisory responsibilities oversee volunteer case managers and program instructors.

Shelter Staff (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Summary
Reports to the Shelter Supervisor. The primary function of the Shelter Staff position is to oversee all aspects of our 30 bed emergency family shelter for residents and volunteers. There are two positions available a full-time (40 hour) and a part-time (Sat/Sun 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) position. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. The positions are non-exempt. The positions are overtime eligible the full time position includes benefits.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all shelter functions such as recreation, meals, chores/cleanliness, sleeping arrangements, security, spiritual content, and program compliance. Opening and/or closing the shelter at specified times which includes, signing residents and volunteers in and out, ensuring that meals are adequately prepared and provided and managing the assignment of bunks, storage spaces, and chores for residents. Responsible for the security and safety of shelter residents, volunteers, and rescue mission property while on duty, maintaining a clean and orderly facility per mission and health department guidelines, communication and required documentation and other duties as assigned. Assist in the oversight of Biblical spiritual content by way of teaching and counseling individuals and groups, may assist in preparing and serving meal. Participate in monthly staff meetings.

Administrative Assistant

Summary
The Administrative Assistant will assist the Capital Campaign Team with scheduling and maintaining a calendar of events and meetings, and will assist the Volunteer Coordinator with events coordination, scheduling tours, and assisting with volunteers in their respective positions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage capital campaign team’s calendars, attend and arrange meetings, prepare documents, log and maintain information for reporting, record meeting minutes, assist Volunteer Coordinator with daily responsibilities, greet and direct visitors and volunteers, assist with donation drop offs, oversee day-to-day operations, phones, fax, order supplies, filing, etc. run various errands, team player. Receptionist duties, pre-screen potential families for 90 day Emergency Family Shelter, provide referrals to resources, receive donations and issue donation receipts, attend to office housekeeping for reception and common staff areas, first point of contact for the SFV Rescue Mission. Foster and encourage teamwork within the Mission. Comply with and promote Rescue Mission Alliance safety program. Other duties as assigned by the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission Director.
Qualifications
Committed Christian, in agreement with Rescue Mission Alliance Statement of Faith and active in a local church, High-school diploma, or GED, one or more years administrative experience in an office environment, Valid California driver’s license, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
